« La gavotte, le ...plinn, la polka, ça vous parle ? Ces deux-là les pratiquent depuis quelques décennies. Jean-Luc Thomas et Gab Faure savent entrainer les foules au bien-danser. Mais ils vont bien plus loin : ils infusent dans les airs traditionnels populaires les accents et les rythmes glanés lors de leurs voyages au long cours. Irlande, Brésil, Balkans, Niger, Inde… Les cinq continents et les cultures de leurs frères terriens les inspirent.
Leur aventure en duo revisite les thèmes de la danse à chaque occasion avec liberté, fantaisie, écoute réciproque, réactivité, variations et improvisations. Les compositions nées de leurs échanges deviendront certainement, un jour, des traditionnels. Car dans le monde qui va, on "agit avec son lieu, on pense avec le monde" (Edouard Glissant). Avec amour et humour, telle est leur signature. »

Piece composed by Gab subsequent to a striking encounter at the end of an initiatory path.

Gavotte, plinn, andro, does it ring a bell ? These two have been playing them for a few decades. Jean-Luc Thomas and Gab Faure know how to train crowds to the well-dancing. But they go far beyond : they infuse into traditional tunes the accents and rhythms harvested along their travels around the world. Ireland, Brasil, Balkans, Niger, India... The five continents and their earthling brothers' cultures inspire them.
Their duet adventure freely readapts the dance tunes on every occasion with creativity, mutual listening, reactivity, variations and improvisations. The original compositions born from their musical dialogues will certainly become, someday, traditionals. As in this changing world, one "takes action with their whereabouts, thinks with the world" (Edouard Glissant). With love and humour, such is their signature.
